Abstract
Startup ecosystems have emerged as vital drivers of innovation, economic growth, employment generation, and technological advancement across nations. Countries such as the United States, Israel, Singapore, China, Germany, and India have developed vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems through strategic policy interventions, financial support mechanisms, innovation infrastructure, and human capital development. This chapter examines the determinants influencing the success of startup ecosystems from a comparative global perspective. The study investigates the impact of government support, access to finance, innovation infrastructure, entrepreneurial culture, human capital, and digital readiness on startup ecosystem performance. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected from 500 startup founders, incubator managers, venture capital professionals, and entrepreneurship experts from selected startup hubs across six countries. Statistical tools including descriptive analysis, Chi-square analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were employed to analyze the relationships among ecosystem determinants and startup success. The findings reveal that access to finance, innovation infrastructure, and entrepreneurial culture are the most significant predictors of startup ecosystem success. The study contributes to the growing body of entrepreneurship literature by providing a comparative international framework for policymakers, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders seeking to strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems.
