Abstract
Digital transformation has become an essential strategy for business organizations to improve operational efficiency, customer engagement, and competitive advantage. The rapid growth of digital technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital payment systems, e-commerce platforms, and data analytics has significantly changed business practices across industries. This study aims to examine the adoption of digital transformation practices by business organizations in Madurai City. The research analyzes the level of digital adoption, factors influencing implementation, benefits experienced by organizations, and challenges faced during digital transformation. A descriptive research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 120 business organizations through a structured questionnaire using convenience sampling. The findings reveal that most organizations in Madurai City have adopted digital tools mainly for communication, accounting, marketing, and customer relationship management. The study concludes that digital transformation positively influences business performance, though challenges such as lack of technical expertise, cybersecurity concerns, and financial constraints continue to affect implementation.
