Abstract
In this research work an attempt is made on the performance study of internally cured concrete using biomaterials, namely Aloe vera, Cactusand Calatropis giganteaas self-curing agents, and result will be compared with conventional concrete to know the performance difference. The present research focuses on workability, strength, and durability study on M20 grade concretes. The optimum dosage of Aloe vera, Cactus, and Calatropis gigantea was taken equally as 0.4%, 0.6%, and 0.8% by weight of cement. And optimum dosage is planned or selected on the basis of earlier research studies (national & international journal). From the slump tests performed, it was found that there is a minimum variation between conventional concrete and bio-admixture concrete. The strength activity index will be determined by keeping compressive strength of conventionally cured concrete for 7, 14, 28 and 56 days and for bio-admixture concrete. The performance study of concretes was made and the results are positive and encouraging in bio-admixture concretes which are ecofriendly, cost effective, high workability, durability, high compressive strength and high performance materials.
